"Acapulco Blue"

  • Acapulco Blue is based on an image of a waterfall. The thread is dyed in various shades of blue, creating a shift of colors as the viewer moves around the work. The hanging bottom pieces are worn tiles found on a walk around the shore of Acapulco. Here jade and precious stones offered to water and fertility dieties take on the more contemporary nature of discarded artifacts, fragments with distinct histories worn by water and time.
